Akki Roti

Ingredients for this Recipe

Rice flour

50 gms

Grated coconut

5 gms

Finely chopped onion

5 gms

Finely chopped green chilies

1 tsp

Chopped coriander leaves

Salt to taste

Preparation

1. In a mixing bowl, add rice flour, grated coconut, chopped onion, chopped green chilies, chopped coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well.

2. Boil 50-75 ml of water in a pan. Once the water comes to a boil, add the oil to the water and mix well.

3. Pour the hot water over the rice flour mixture and mix well with a spoon or spatula. Let it cool down for a minute or two.

4. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and pliable. You can add a little water if the dough is too dry or a little rice flour if it is too wet.

5. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and shape them into balls.

6. Flatten one ball into a disc using your fingers or a rolling pin.

7. Heat a non-stick pan or tawa over medium heat. Place the flattened dough on the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side or until it turns golden brown.

8. Repeat with the remaining dough.

9. Serve hot with chutney, curry or yogurt. Enjoy your delicious akki roti!
