Oats Chilla

Makes 2 chillas Ingredients: 1/2 cup oats 1/4 cup besan (chickpea flour) 1/4 - 1/2 cup water 1/4 small onion, finely chopped 1/4 small tomato, finely chopped 1/4 tsp turmeric powder Salt to taste 1 teaspoon oil

Ingredients for this Recipe

Besan flour

40 gm

Water

40 ml

Chopped onion

Chopped tomato

2 tsp

Preparation

1. Grind oats in a blender to a fine powder.

2. In a mixing bowl, add the ground oats, chickpea flour, onion, tomato, turmeric powder, and salt to taste. Mix well.

3. Add water gradually and mix to form a smooth batter of pouring consistency. The batter should not be too thick or too thin.

4. Heat a non-stick tawa or a non-stick pan over medium heat.

5. Grease the tawa with a little oil.

6. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin chilla.

7. Drizzle some oil around the edges of the chilla and let it cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.

8. Once the bottom is golden brown, use a spatula to loosen the edges and flip the chilla to cook the other side.

9. Cook the other side for another minute or until it is lightly golden.

10. Once cooked, remove the chilla from the tawa and serve hot with your favorite chutney.
