Ingredients for this Recipe

Basmati rice

1/2 cup

Water

3/4 cup

Green peas

1/2 cup

Cumin seeds

1/2 tsp

Oil

1 tbsp

Salt to taste

Preparation

1. Wash the Basmati rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in cold water for 20 minutes. Drain the water and keep the rice aside.

2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Sauté until the cumin seeds start to crackle.

3. Add peas and rice. Stir well.

4. Now add salt. Add water and stir gently. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook on low heat until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.

5. Remove the pan from the heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.

6. Serve hot.
